Salve Regina University is a private, Catholic, coeducational university of arts and sciences that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. The school was founded in 1947 by the Sisters of Mercy.
Sitting on more than 80 acres in a premier location of Newport, the campus is set on seven contiguous estates and features more than 21 structures of historical significance. The university serves more than 2,500 students from across the United States and around the world. It offers 46 undergraduate majors, nine master's programs and a doctorate in the humanities.
